Creation of a pamphlet designed to further the goal of disseminating information about employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might be unaware of such opportunities.

 

October 17, 2007

KPEJ created and distributed 500 pamphlets containing job descriptions in a broadcast television station. The pamphlet contained information on education or experience needed to fill these positions. It was distributed to schools, colleges, employment agencies and various recruitment sources.

 

Participation in at least four job fairs by employment unit personnel who have substantial responsibility in making hiring decisions.

 

October 17, 2007

 

KPEJ attended a job fair at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin, where we distributed an additional 200 pamphlets and took applications.

The establishment of training programs designed to enable employment unit personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions.

 

March 07-March 08

Wide Orbit Training Sessions

 

KPEJ provides detailed training, with computer modules to new hires. We also had an update to our traffic system and provided training modules to existing employees.

February 08

 

KPEJ provided training to the sales department personnel on a new program designed to help them develop proposals. KPEJ provided the training for Strata free of charge.

 Provide training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination.

 

March 08

EEO Training Session

 

In a regularly scheduled Department Head meeting, all attending department managers and supervisors were given information packets containing EEO guidelines. A briefing was conducted concerning Federal Employment laws regarding EEO guidelines. This session was hosted by Jayne Faltus, Program Manager for KPEJ, and was ended with questions and comments relating to guidelines.

March 2008

 

In a regularly scheduled Department Head meeting, all attending department managers and supervisors were given training in reading and understanding the Nielsen Rating Manual. This session was hosted by Laura Wolf, General Manager for KPEJ, and was ended with questions and comments relating to ratings system.

March 2008

 

A Master Control Operator is being trained to shoot video with the production department. The video is for a community affairs program and is allowing him to learn a new area in the television business, while continuing to work in master control.
